Abstract

1507075 Pipe joint KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDT-DEUTZ AG 30 May 1975 [31 May 1974] 23676/75 Heading F2G In a pipe joint suitable for a furnace connection, a non-continuous sealing ring 14 arranged between an end flange 4 of a first pipe and a washer 5 is clamped against the outer surface of a second pipe by clamping elements 15; sealing elements 10 surround the second pipe and are housed within a cylindrical ring 9 carried by the washer. Preferably a steel non- continuous sealing element 14 is clamped by bolts 15 housed within a clamping ring 16 which is itself clamped between a first pipe end flange 4 and washer 5 via further clamping bolts 7. Differential expansion between members is taken up by compression springs and carried by the clamping bolts 7 together with an annular gap "s" between the washer 5 and second pipe surface; and an axial gap "a" between confronting pipe ends.
