Abstract

1503507 Cartons TILLOTSONS CORRUGATED CASES Ltd 13 June 1975 [13 June 1974] 26219/74 Heading B8P A carton folded, e.g. from double faced corrugated cardboard comprises opposed side and end walls 3, 5; 2, 4 and a base formed by two flaps 34, 35 folded to define a pair of tubular supporting members, Fig. 2. Tabs 30-33 on the end walls 2, 4 are fixed to portions 36, 39 of the flaps 34, 35 to retain them, and tubular stiffening elements 58, 59, folded from blanks (not shown), are inserted through apertures 46-49 in the flaps 34, 35 and apertures defined by folding tabs 18-21 in the walls 3, 5. An insert 68 may be placed above the tubular supporting elements and closure flaps 26-29 or a removable lid (not shown) may be provided. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), flaps (70), (71) on the walls 2, 4 may be folded to provide further tubular supporting members at right angles to the first.
