Abstract

1503459 Scavenging vessels MITSUBISHI JUKOGYO KK 23 Dec 1976 [16 June 1976] 53838/76 Heading B7A A boat for collecting floating material comprises twin hulls with a collecting cage 13 located in the channel between them and one or more water jet units 8, 9 between the hulls adjacent the bows for guiding and moving the material into and through the channel and into the cage 13. The jet unit comprises a cylinder, Fig. 5 (not shown), with a plurality of jet nozzles (8a) and a drive (12) for angularly adjusting the cylinder about its axis for altering the direction of the water jets. Pumps (3) draw water from the channel and supply it to units 8, 9 via control valves for adjusting the supply rate. A solid or mesh guide plate 15 is provided in the channel. Cage 13 is moved by a hoist 14.
