Abstract

1502837 Two-part couplings; terminals AMP Inc 11 June 1975 [9 July 1974] 24947/75 Heading H2E An electrical terminal 24 for engagement with an externally threaded post comprises a socket 19 with an open seam allowing resilient expansion and steps 26 formed on the inner surface of the ferrule opposite the seam. The terminal may be readily pressed on to a threaded post of appropriate size but is difficult to withdraw without unscrewing, due to the steps being formed with free faces 25 directed rearwardly to engage the threads. A lead is crimped within the arms 27 the tang on the floor of this portion aiding retention of the lead. The terminal shown is suitable for connection of an ignition lead to a sparking plug suppressor cap. The crimping portion may engage insulation and conductor of the lead.
