Abstract

150,235. Strowe, S. Feb. 13, 1920. Boats and floating toys.-A floating toy in the form of a boat, fish, bird, or animal is provided with a chamber open at its rear below the water line, and means for heating the chamber to expel the air or vapour therein, thus propelling the toy. As shown, in a boat a the chamber is made from a single tube bent into coils c at its upper end and having two rearwardly extending members c<1> with their open ends below the water-line f, the coils being heated by a lamp b with wick tube b<1> and wick b<2>. The heated gases escape through perforations formed by pressing up tongues a' from a slide a<3> on a detachable cover a' provided with an opening a<2>. The chamber may be formed of several tubes suitably connected together. A flag-staff d' is soldered at d<2> to the boat and has the rudder e mounted on its vertical portion. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 20081/91, 26823/97, and 120,296.
