Rearing-appliances.-In an oven or brooder of the kind having a drum b which receives the flue gases from a lamp g, the drum b is so arranged that it projects over the lamp at one side, and a connection d is provided to lead the gases from the drum to a space e in the domed or like roof. The connection d may be replaced by a flue d<1> leading direct through the space e to the chimney f. Air enters the brooder by an horizontal pipe turned down at the outer end and discharging the air in contact with the heated drum b. A direct ventilating-aperture covered by a shutter is also provided. The lamp chamber i is surrounded by a removable outer casing. The legs n are adjustable in length, and according to the Provisional Specification are removable.
