Abstract
163,477. Gledhill, A., and Radcliffe, A. Feb. 19, 1920. Rearing-appliances.-Relates to brooders of the kind heated by circulating pipes from a hot-water boiler placed outside the brooding chamber. The boiler J is heated by the lamp K and fed by a pipe N from a supply-tank M. The circulating- pipes G, H are in the form of two coils connected by a junction-piece, from which an air pipe P with check valve leads to the supply-tank M. The pipes G, H are arranged within a casing C with a metal cover F which conserves the heat and deflects it upon the chickens on the adjustable floor R. An air discharge passage D is thus formed between the casing C and the walls E of the brooder.
