Abstract

The treatment takes place by means of a vaporous or gaseous medium flowing out through a nozzle (1) at at least approximately sonic speed. The textile material (5) to be treated is guided past the mouth surface of the nozzle (1), extending over the width of the textile material, by means of a progressive-motion element (6, 7) arranged respectively in front of and behind the nozzle (1) in relation to the treatment zone. The vaporous or gaseous medium at the same time flows through this material (5). The textile material (5) is guided past the nozzle (1), the wedge-shaped outer contour of which forms an angle of approximately 60 DEG , in such a way that a particular textile-material part (5) passing this nozzle (1) rests on the nozzle mouth and is pressed against this. The textile-material parts running towards the nozzle (1) and those running away from this nozzle with a change in their direction of movement form an angle which is larger than the wedge angle of the nozzle outer contour. The effect of the flowing medium on the textile material is increased substantially as a result of this measure. <IMAGE>
