Abstract

<PICT:0687970/IV (c)/1> An apparatus for treating textiles, paper and other fibrous materials in which the materials 3 are continuously conducted through a liquid bath 2 in a tank 1, comprises means for generating vibrations within the tank consisting of two members 5 and 6 spaced a certain distance apart to leave a gap for the passage of the fibrous materials to be treated and extending at least approximately the entire width of the fibrous materials to be treated, at least one of said members being connected to driving means 7 and 8 which set it in vibration in order to cause an intensive movement of the liquid on to and in the fibrous materials.
