Abstract

149,512. Warren, W. H. July 22, 1919. Seed-distributors.-A machine for sowing seeds comprises a vibrating seed-box in which the seeds pass to and fro between oppositely projecting vanes or baffle-plates before reaching the outlet. The seed-box is placed in a pivotally supported case e, Fig. 1, which is vibrated by a connecting- rod m and a crank-disk on a roller r which is driven by an endless belt as shown. The seeds are directed by a funnel f into a furrow made by a share d, and are covered by means of two plates g, h. The machine is mounted on a plain rear roller b and a front roller a of the shape shown. The metal seed-box is of the shape shown in plan in Fig. 4. The outlet end is flat and is provided with vanes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 which increase in length and are placed nearer together towards the outlet F. The seed-box is provided with a sliding lid.
