Abstract
149,192. Huth Ges., Dr. E. F., and Heller, W. July 17, 1918, [Convention date]. Wireless telegraphy; electric oscillations, producing.-Thermionic valves for generating and amplifying oscillations in wireless telegraphy have an oscillatory circuit connected between the grid and one of the main electrodes, and a choking- coil between the grid and the other main electrode. In the form shown in Fig. 2, an oscillatory circuit 6 is connected between the grid 3 and plate 4, the battery 5 being placed in the plate connexion. A choking coil 8, with or without an iron core, is connected between the grid 3 and filament 2. An aerial may replace the oscillatory circuit 6. When employed for heterodyne reception, a telephone may supplement, or be substituted for, the choking-coil. In a modification, the choking-coil is connected between the filament and the further side of the oscillatory circuit. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) refers also to an arrangement in which a variable high resistance and a condenser are connected between the grid and cathode, this being stated to affect a low-frequency amplification in receiving, and a tone pulsation in transmitting, the tone being adjusted by varying the resistance. In another modification, shown in Fig. 9 (Cancelled), the oscillatory circuit 6 is placed between grid 3 and filament 2, and the choking-coil 8 between the plate 4 and grid 3. A condenser 9 may be placed in the grid connexion, and the battery 10 may be placed either in the filament or plate lead. The plate may be connected through a condenser to the grid of a second valve. Other drawings accompanying the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) are not described. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
