Abstract

1487866 Phosphating metals PYRENE CHEMICAL SERVICES Ltd 15 Jan 1975 [17 Jan 1974] 1685/75 Heading C7U A phosphating bath for e.g. iron or steel surfaces comprising zinc phosphate and H 2 O 2 is maintained at the desired free to total P 2 O 5 ratio by adding an aqueous solution (pH 6À5 to 10) of an alkali or ammonium phosphate and a peroxide, e.g. H 2 O 2 or carbamide peroxide. The phosphating bath may also include Ni, nitrate, chloride, sulphate or fluoride, e.g. silicofluoride, ions. The solution may contain sodium pyrophosphate.
