Abstract

1485083 Selective plating by deplating STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd 3 Feb 1976 [11 Feb 1975] 5728/75 Heading C7B A workpiece e.g. an electrical connector blade is selectively electro-plated by plating overall at least that part of its surface whereat selective plating is required e.g. with gold, and electro- deplating by immersing the surface in an electrolytic bath and connecting the workpiece as anode with a cathode in close proximity to the surface apertured, e.g. with a slot or series of holes, in a pattern corresponding to the required pattern of plating. Preferably the workpiece is moved through the bath along the length of the cathode aperture.
