Abstract

1484752 Drawer locking system CHANCTONBURY SECURITY SERVICES Ltd 1 Sept 1975 [10 April 1975] 14672/75 Heading E2A A filing cabinet 1 having drawers 2-4 to be locked also comprises a first locking bar 10 slidable on the inner face of a drawer between unlocking and locking positions, engaging the frame 19 in the locking position as shown in Fig. 1, a second locking bar 20 having a retaining member e.g. peg 21 passable through an aperture in frame 19 into engagement with means 11 on the first locking bar 10 when in its locking position so that the retaining member 21 cannot be withdrawn through the aperture until the bar 10 is moved to its unlocking position. As shown, bar 10 is movable by means of link 7 and a handle 16 on the exterior of the drawer and may be locked in the locking position by bolt 15 engaging recess 14 therein, bolt 15 being operated by a keyless combination lock 17/18. The lower end of the second locking bar 20 is retained by a saddle 24 on the base 23 of the frame. Lever 7 may be replaced by a pinion actuated by handle 16 and cooperating with a rack on bar 10.
