1,013,203. Multiple fastenings. S. N. ABBOTT. Aug. 29, 1963 [Aug. 31, 1962], No. 25366/65. Divided out of 1,013,202. Heading E2A. Locking mechanism for the drawers of desks, cabinets and the like 10 comprises a vertically displaceable locking bar 14 at a side of the drawers 11 to be locked, projections 22 on the bar 14 adapted to engage, when the drawers are fully closed, with notches 12 formed or provided in the lower edges of the adjacent sides of the drawers, spring means 15 biasing the locking bar to drawer-locking position, a rocker arm or lever 30 fulcrumed at 31 at the rear of a front rail 10c of the drawer housing and one end 30c whereof is operably in contact with the locking bar, a crank or eccentric 32 in operable association with the other end 30b of the rocker arm or lever, and a key-operable lock 20 in front of the housing, the key whereof is adapted to turn the crank or eccentric whereby to cause displacement of the locking bar 14.
