Abstract

1,161,167. Latches. STREBOR DIECASTING CO. Ltd. 21 March, 1968 [22 April, 1967], No. 18656/67. Heading E2A. A door lock comprises a rotary push button F mountable on a door to engage a sliding rack D engaging a pinion d 1 on a spindle rotation of the spindle causing a larger pinion on each end to engage ratchet teeth b on a spring urged latch bolt B, an eccentric peg f 1 on the push button whereby on rotation of the key, the peg is brought out of engagement with the sliding rack to prevent actuation of the latch bolt. A casing A1 spring supports the push button in a finger plate f 3 on one side of the door. On the other side of the door a casing A supports the latch bolt and gearing together with a rotatable operating handle a and a sliding catch d 3 to lock the bolt. The peg f 1 is engageable with a screw on the rack D to operate the bolt, the screw being adjustable to accommodate different thicknesses of door.
