Abstract

1482912 Comminuting apparatus LEESONA PLASTICS MACHINERY Ltd 8 July 1974 [10 July 1973 2 Nov 1973 7 Feb 1974] 32923/ 73 and 51088/73 Heading B2A [Also in Division F2] A pelletiser having a rotor 1 and bed knife 7, Fig. 1, is silenced via a nozzle 11. The nozzle has a delivery aperture 16 and an inlet section 20 connected by a blower 22 hose 23 and butterfly valve 24 which deliver 1000 cu ft per minute at 8" w.g. Castellated knives are used on a dicer with a similar silencing arrangement. A granulating machine is silenced by admitting air into a hopper, Fig. 4. The machine includes a screen 30. A modified pelletiser includes an adjustable multiple jet nozzle 11' parallel with the rotor axis with radial holes 34 1/32 diameter, Fig. 6. The principle of blowing air at the side of a fixer component from which the rotor recedes in rotation and with which the rotor cooperates may be used in silencing other rotary machinery.
