Ordnance, cleaning; machine guns.-Relates to means of the kind described in the parent Specification for removing the copper deposited in the bore of a gun by the projectile driving-bands, and consists in applying the fusible alloy to the curved surface of the projectile in rear of the driving- band, or, in the form of washers, pastilles, ribbons, powder, granules &c., in front of the firing- charge, in the cartridge case or bag, or in the charge itself, instead of on the base of the projectile.
