Abstract

1481734 Open end spinning, openers MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER AG 4 Oct 1974 [19 Oct 1973] 43095/74 Headings DID and D1N Open end spinning machine has a plurality of units including rotor, opener roller, sliver feed roller and drive elements therefore are arranged in a housing which is lowerable into a non-operative position for detaching the drive transmitting elements from associated drive components of the machine, the housing being interlockable in its operative position and, after lowering, completely removable from the machine by a further shifting motion. As shown, the spinning unit is dismountable from the machine frame by rotating eccentric cam 18, 19 so as to lower the unit and thus permit both heads 16 to emerge from slots 17. The belt drives to the rotor and opening roller, air suction lines 11, 12 to the rotor, dirt separator, and electric supply 26 are disconnected by the lowering motion. A lever system (33, 35, 36 and 37, Fig. 2 not shown) may lift the drive belt off the rotor shaft and brake the rotor shaft. A magnetic clutch may interrupt the drive to the feed roll on yarn breakage.
