Abstract

1465180 Cleaning open-end spinning rotors ZINSER TEXTILMASCHINEN GmbH 15 May 1974 [28 May 1973] 21588/74 Headings DID and D1F The rotor 1 of an open-end spinning machine is controlled such that when a thread monitor 9 detects an ends down continuous deceleration of the rotor is initiated and a timer 27 is activated which after a first period sufficient for the rotor speed to permit effective cleaning initiates a pneumatic cleaning operation and after a second period terminates the pneumatic cleaning operation. The initiation occurs during the run down of the rotor at time t 3 and termination occurs at t 5 when the rotor has stopped or alternatively during restarting of the rotor. The cleaning is done by an air nozzle 14 controlled by a valve 8. The rotor is decelerated by a lever operated brake pad 24 while the drive belt 4 is lifted from the drive whorl 3 by a roller, Fig. 2 (not shown).
