Abstract
147,930. Pritzke, J. May 18, 1914, [Convention date]. Hand-stamps; inking-apparatus.-A hand-stamp which can be adjusted for printing different numerals, or other indications, and is fitted with a self-inking pad, is so constructed that this pad is kept out of contact with the printing-surface during its adjustment to bring a different numeral &c. into printing position. As shown in Fig. 2, the stamp 14, which is formed with ten numerals, is carried by a sliding frame 12 mounted in an outer casing 11 and maintained normally in a raised position by springs. In this position, a pivoted ink-pad 31 carried by a spring-controlled arm is arranged so that the stamp 14 can be rotated by bevel and spur gearing operated by rotating a handle 16 without contacting with the pad. On depression of the stamp 14 by acting on a knob 17, the pad 31 is first caused to ink the stamp, and is then moved therefrom by the action of a pin 34 on the stamp frame 12. As shown in Fig. 4, the pad 31 is normally in contact with the stamp 14, and is moved therefrom during its adjustment by means of a spring 35 which grips the shaft of the stamp frictionally and' is fitted with arms 35<11>, 35<1> which press respectively on a stop 36<1> on the frame 12, and on the inking-pad support, and trip the latter. The stamp is fitted with a spring-pawl 23 engaging recesses 22 to control the adjustment, and a dial and pointer are provided to assist the adjustment to any desired position.
