1478843 Fat-coated thickener UNILEVER Ltd 21 May 1974 [24 May 1973] 24785/73 Heading A2B A dry food mix. rehydratable to soup, sauce or gravy includes as athickener an agglomerated starch coated with fat, preferably in the ratio of starch to fat of 1.5:1 to 10:1 The agglomerated starch is in the form of deliberately produced clusters of cohering starch particles, the cluster size preferably being from 50-350 microns, the starch suitably being a raw flour selected from wheat flour, corn flour, pea flour and rice flour. Up to 20% of an auxiliary thickener, for example a gum may be present together with other usual ingredients.
