Abstract

1477798 Lids for containers SOC GENERALE POUR L'EMBALLAGE 14 March 1975 [18 March 1974] 10726/75 Heading B8T A lid 4 for use with a container having an external shoulder 3 around an aperture which is normally sealed by a welded or adhered film of material 2, has a depending flange 5 formed with an inward continuous groove 5a for locking engagement with the shoulder 3 and an upwardly extending projection 6. After first removing the lid and the cover 2, the container may be resealed by inverting the lid such that the projection 6 engages the interior of the lateral walls of the container in sealing fashion, Fig. 3, (not shown). The projection 6 can be so dimensioned as to provide a stacking panel to allow the containers to be stacked one on top of another.
