Point-protectors and retaining- devices for pins.-Hat, tie, brooch &c. pins are provided with grooves 2, 3 designed to be engaged by a single or double clip 4, mounted on a spring 9 in a case 7 and having notches 13, 14 loosely engaged by projections 11, 12. When a pull comes on the pin, the clip is moved lengthwise and caused to grip the pin more tightly, by means of the action between the surfaces 15, 16 of the clip and the tapered end of the case.
