Abstract

146,851. Holl, C. June 20, 1919, [Convention date]. Steeve-links; studs.-The cuff-link R or similar article is in two parts a, d, one part a having a stem a<1> and a hollow sheath b containing a bolt provided with a cylindrical or prismatic head c and a stem c<1> projecting through a hole b<1> in the sheath. The bolt is pressed upwardly by a spring b<3>, its upward movement being lunited by stops formed in the sheath, and is adapted to engage in a notch e<1> in a catch e carried by the other part d of the link. The end of the catch e is bevelled to press back the bolt when the catch is unseated through a hole in the sheath b. To disengage the bolt, the part d is given a quarterturn so that the unnotched portion of the catch c engages the bolt head and presses it back allowing the catch to be withdrawn. In a modification, Fig. 9, the head of the bolt has a point c<2> to engage in a hole c<3> formed in the catch.
