Abstract
255,420. Fouletier, L. July 16, 1925, [Convention date]. Press-button fasterners; stud-and-socket fastenings.-The stud has an undercut head and carries a sliding collar on the shank, with a bevelled end adapted to engage in the undercut recess and expand the retaining-spring arms to release the stud. The retaining spring 1 is mounted between plates 4, 5 of the socket member 7 and engages under the head 2 of the stud. A sliding member 8 carried by the stud shank is normally clear of the spring but when the ,socket is pressed down on the stud beyond the engaging position, the bevel 9 on the member forces the spring arms apart and enters the undercut recess 3 and engages the spring arms in a groove 10, Fig. 5. The stud can then be readily withdrawn. The member 8 may have a double bevel. Fig. 6, when the groove 10 is dispensed with. The groove 10 may also be dispensed with on a cylindrical member 8.
