Safety - pin fasten ings; catches for hinged and like pins -A safety-pin fasten ing, for brooches, but tons, &c. is provided with a pin of which the point lies closely against the back of the brooch &c. when shut and which is engaged by two catches. 'As shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the pin consists of a bent length of wire b, c, d, one arm d of which is fixed to the plate k, and the other bent so that the cranked part e engages between the two catches h, i while the point lies closely against the back of the brooch. In a modification, the openings of the two catches face in opposite directions.
