1471656 Underwater supporting structure BRITISH PETROLEUM CO Ltd 4 Sept 1974 [6 Sept 1973] 41921/73 Heading E1H An underwater structure adapted to support the legs 6 of a jack-up rig 7 comprises a base 1 having a supporting surface 10 and skirts 19 which penetrate the water bottom 18 to define compartments 2. Hollow body 3, through which extends drilling passage 4, is mounted on the surface 10. The base and the hollow body are individually floatable by admission of air and individually and controllably floodable by admission of water to sink to the water bottom.
