Abstract

1468740 Delivering measured quantitites of liquid BRELL & RUHL GmbH and BAVARIA FEUERLOSCH - APPARATEBAU ALBERT LOOS 11 Oct 1974 [25 Oct 1973] 44277/74 Heading B8N Liquefied gas is alternately forced from a reservoir 1 into chambers I, II on opposite sides of floating piston 12 by the pressure of inert gas 5 in reservoir 1, and while a measured quantity is forced into one chamber the piston 12 discharges a previously received measured quantity from the other chamber into a receiver 20. The process is controlled by a 4-way valve 8 (Figs. 2a to 2d, not shown), and after each stroke of piston 12 valve 8 shuts off line 18 so that inert gas from store 21 can be used to flush any remaining liquefied gas from this line into receiver 20. The measured quantity can be varied using adjustable end stop 16, and temperature compensation is provided by means 26 on piston 12.
