Abstract

1467256 Flip-topped cartons DRG PACKAGING Ltd 29 April 1974 [27 April 1973] 20239/73 Heading B8P A flip-topped box which comprises, after assembly, a body part having front, base, back and side walls (e.g. 10, 26 &c.) and a lid part having front, top and side walls (e.g. 18, 34 &c.), the lid being hinged to the backwall of the body and such as to fit outside the upper portions of the front and side walls of the body part, is formed from a blank comprising an array of foldable panels, the blank being suitable for side loading prior to closure of the side flaps and being assembled by first adhering the inner face of the front panel 18 of the lid to an extension panel 22 hinged downwards from the upper edge of the front body wall 10 to form the required sleeve for side loading, the extension panel being provided with a transverse rupturable line of weakness whereby the box is initially opened by rupturing said line of weakness.
