Abstract

1466808 Igniter plugs BENDIX CORP 14 Jan 1975 [16 Jan 1974] 1569/75 Heading F1B An igniter plug, particularly for a turbine, comprises forward and intermediate elongated insulators 80, 40 and an outer electrode in the form of an elongated shell 20 disposed around an inner electrode 30 and isolated therefrom by the forward and intermediate insulators. The outer electrode having a front end portion 23 arranged to form a spark gap with the end of a front portion 32 of the inner electrode, and includes means 100, 200 for axially and resiliently biasing the forward insulator against the front end portion of the shell. The axial force applied to the forward insulator 80 may be applied by only one spring (100 or 200) or by using both springs. The axial force may be applied to the insulator by curved or wavy washers.
