1465117 Loading apparatus; endless conveyers POHLIG HECKEL BLEICHERT VEREINIGTE MASCHINENFABRIKEN AG 4 Sept 1974 [22 Feb 1974] 38676/74 Headings B8A and B8E Apparatus for loading a ship comprises a jib 1, having an extensible end and a telescopic conveyer belt 2, which is pivoted on a horizontal axis 6 and is supported at an intermediate point on a support 3. The support 3 has areuate sections 41, 4 11 engaged by rollers 5a, 5b on the jib, on which the jib is raised and lowered in a substantially vertical path by ropes passing over pulley on the support 3 to a winch 7. The jib runs along parallel tracks 8, 9, and the rollers 5a, 5b are mounted at the ends of a cross-beam 12 mounted on a vertical pivot 12a to allow limited twisting at the support 3. In a modification the end of the jib having the axis 6 is mounted on a vertical pivot so that the jib can swing along a curved track 8.
