1,042,695. Reclaiming bulk material; endless conveyers. BETEILIGUNGS - UND PATENTVERWALTUNGSGESELLSCHAFT. April 15, 1965 [April 17, 1964], No. 16334/65. Headings B8A and B8E. A reclaiming and piling installation for bulk material comprises a reversible conveyer belt 18 mounted on a telescopic boom 16, 17, the outer end of which rests on a self-propelled bucket wheel device whilst material is being reclaimed. During piling operations the conveyer is used on its own, Fig. 3 (not shown). When the boom telescopes, slack in the belt is taken up by a loop which passes round fixed pulleys 21, 22 and a movable pulley 20. The inner end of the belt 18 is also telescopic so that material can be either fed to a belt 1 through a shoot 8, or, when the belt 18 is extended, material can be received from the belt 1 via a belt 41. Instead of a belt loop, separate belts may be provided on the telescopic portions of the boom, Fig. 6 (not shown). The bucket-wheel device runs on crawler-tracks 29 and is luffed by a ram 35. In the embodiment illustrated in Fig. 8 (not shown), a jib 46 is supported on portals 45 and a jib 54, which is luffable and slewable, is mounted on the bucket-wheel device. During reclaiming operations the two jibs are pivoted together either about horizontal and vertical axes or telescopically. When material is being piled the two jibs are disconnected and the jib 46 is used alone.
