Abstract
1464817 Branch terminals KARL PFISTERER ELEKTROTECHNISCHE SPEZIALARTIKEL 12 March 1975 10289/75 Heading H2E A terminal for connecting branch conductors to a main cable comprises a two part body which is clamped around the cable by screws 54, a knife edge or pointed projection or projections 30 on a contact member 28 in insulation 32 carried by one part 20 piercing a live phase of the cable, and branch conductors may be connectable thereto via bores 36 and terminal screws 38 in the contact member. The second part 40 of the body has a channel 42 with a surface 44, e.g. serrated which supports the cable and contacts the sheath neutral phase 14 of the cable. Branch connectors may be connected in bores 48 by terminal screws 50. The two parts of the body are clamped together by the screws 54 after connection of the required branch conductors in their respective bores. The isolation of the contact member 28 from the body parts and screws reduces the hazard to the fitter. Connection to more than one of the live conductors of the cable or to the neutral phase, if this is segmental instead of a sheath, may be effected by a series of similar terminals each contacting a different conductor.
