Abstract

146,387. Nissen, H. G. Dec. 2, 1913, [Convention date]. Working-fluid supply.-By means of a valve 10, which is directly opened by the pressure of the exploded gases, steam from a water-jacket 3 is admitted to the explosion chamber 2 of a gas' turbine 21 at the moment of explosion. The gas mixture is delivered to the explosion chamber 2 from a chamber 8 past a non-return valve 9 and the valve 10, which is moved off its seat 14- against a stop 12, in which position it seals the ducts 16 leading to the pipe 18 and the waterjacket 3. On ignition by the plug 19, the valve 10 is forced against its seat 14 and steam from the jacket 3 flows through the uncovered ducts 16 to the explosion chamber and the turbine. Transverse tubes 5 may be provided in the chamber 2 for cooling. A long narrow passage separates the valve 10 from the chamber 2.
