Abstract

1463723 Road scrapers G HEIDT 22 Feb 1974 [11 Oct 1973] 8155/74 Heading E1G A mobile road scraper comprises several individual short scraper blades 15 arranged side by side at the same height on a movable tool carrier 10 extending transversely of the direction of travel, each blade being secured to a supporting bar 16 attached at the centre and connected at its other end to vertically and laterally adjustable, piston and cylinder units 2; 3 via metal and rubber spring elements 8 which act as torsion springs. Each rod 16 may be secured in one of several apertures 17 in a retaining head 14. One hydraulic cylinder 2 determines the scraper pressure and the other 3 determines the distance of the blades 15 from the vehicle 1. In a modification, Fig. 4, the spring element comprises a rubber bush 19 held in a retainer 20, and the rod 16 is held in a central bore in the bush 19. The external blade of the scraper may have both rubber bush and metal and rubber elements, Fig. 4A (not shown). The tool carrier comprises a rectangular tube section 22 which slides on a fixed carrier rod 23.
