Abstract

A utility vehicle has an independent rear wheel suspension system with a horizontal pivot arm for each wheel at right angles to a horizontal track rod between the two wheels, made up of sheet material, with a top portion (10) and a lower portion (6) enclosing a helical spring (9) between them. Parallel to the spring is a vertical piston and cylinder type shock absorber (13) with its top secured to an upwards extension of the top sheeting portion (10), and its lower and attached to a protuberance (11) on the side of the lower sheeting portion (6) by a horizontal pivot pin (12). The design gives a low, compact construction.
