Abstract

1463580 Discharge hoppers I P T INSTITUTE FOR POWDER TECHNOLOGY ANSTALT 4 June 1974 [5 June 1973] 24627/74 Heading B8S A device for delivering granular or powdery material from a bunker 1 with a delivery port 2 on its bottom side includes a shaking gutter 3 with a plurality of parallel strips 4 arranged with their longitudinal axes at right angles to their path of reciprocatory movement A and at an angle α, differing from 90 degrees, to the plane going through the delivery port 2. When at rest the gutter 3 effectively closes the port 2 due to the material bridging. The amount of material delivered can be regulated by adjusting the amplitude and/or the frequency of reciprocation. In a modification, (not shown), the strips lie on a curved surface reciprocated about an axis passing through its centre of curvature.
