Abstract

1462486 Support floor shuttering SOB GROUP Ltd 19 Feb 1974 [15 Sept 1973] 7622/74 Heading E1S Floor shuttering is supported by composite beams 1 carried by adjustable supports on props 3, the composite beams comprising bolted-together rectangular channel-sectioned units 1. The units 1 may be arranged backto-back, or in spaced back-to-back relationship, or with three or four such units at a given cross-section (Fig. 4, not shown). Laterally-adjacent units 1 may be staggered to provide a lapping arrangement. Alternatively the units may be arranged in a facing arrangement. The adjustable support may be a threaded spindle 10 sitting in the top of the prop 3 and carrying a bracket 13 on a nut 12, and a cap 11. The shuttering 4 can be lowered whilst the cap 11 provides support following the initial set of the concrete, e.g. The props can be arranged in a tower formation, as in Fig. 1b. The units 1 have intermediate stiffening plates 5, and end stiffening plates with bolt-holes 6. Holes 6 are also provided in the unit webs.
