Abstract

146,146. Chilowsky, C. June 12, 1919, [Convention date]. Addition to 129,977. Explosives.-Powders containing no phosphorus are described for use in producing stabilizing jets for projectiles. These powders are mixtures of magnesium and perchlorate of potash or sulphur, or a mixture of aluminium, magnesium, and perchlorate of potash compressed to 1000 kgs. per sq. cm. A modified phosphorus powder is also described containing red phosphorus 55 per cent, oxide of copper 38 per cent, and sulphur 7 per cent.
