Abstract

1459409 Feeding web FUJI XEROX CO Ltd 12 Dec 1973 [27 Dec 1972] 57649/73 Heading B8R A device for feeding a web 20 selectively through one or the other of two predetermined lengths comprises a feed roller 19 connected by gears Z6, Z5 to a drive shaft 3, which drives the roller 19 directly through a shaft 7 or, indirectly through a shaft 8 and gears Z1 to Z4, depending on which one of spring clutches 1, 2 is energized. Energization of the clutch 1 by applying a signal to a solenoid 5 disengages a pawl 11 from a lug 13 of the clutch 1 which thereby connects the continuously rotating shaft 3 to the shaft 7 to drive the latter through one revolution and feed the web a distance corresponding to the greater length.
