Abstract

1309372 Selective printing SIEMENS AG 11 Jan 1971 [12 Jan 1970] 1268/71 Heading B6F A paper feed mechanism in a line printer comprises feed tractors 32 driven by drive shafts 31, each drive shaft having drive means A1, A2 at one end and bearing means 34 at the other end. Drive means A1 comprises a continuously driven gear 8 couplable to a shaft 11 by an electromagnetic clutch 5, the shaft being stoppable by an electromagnetic brake 3. A programme tape scanner 33 and line pulse generator 13, 14 control operation of the shaft 11 and thereby shaft 31. Drive means A2 also includes a drive gear 22, electromagnetic clutch 19 and brake 17, and further comprises a fast feed clutch 28 and drive gear 29.
