Abstract

1453545 Ink ribbon mechanism COMPUTER PERIPHERALS Inc 3 Jan 1975 [14 Jan 1974] 182/75 Heading B6F An ink ribbon 20 is fed between reels 60, 62 by motors 92, 94 associated with the reels, the motor driving the supply spool acting as a brake on the web by being driven more slowly than that driving the take-up spool, and the ribbon being skewed cyclically by pivoting a plate 96, carrying spool shafts 70, 72, by a motor 126. The ribbon skew is detected by a sensor 150. Conductive portions near the end of the ink ribbon bridge contacts on contact bars to reverse the feed of the ribbon.
