Abstract

1458084 Closure cap KAUTEX-WERKE REINOLD HAGEN GmbH 11 March 1974 [13 March 1973] 10692/74 Heading B8T A closure cap 10 comprises a lid portion 11 connected to a rim 15 which is divided into sections 16 having thread sections 26, 27, 28 which engage the thread sections 29, 30, 31 of the neck 13 of a container when a stressing band 21 presses the sections 16 inwardly. In the unstressed condition, only the thread sections 26, 29 engage and on application of the band 21, the cap 10 moves a distance 34 to compress the sealing ring 32. The band 21 is retained by recesses 24, 25 at the rear of bridges 22 and beads 23 or by bridges and pin-shaped projections forming closed retaining means. The thread sections 26, 27, 28 may be provided with a roughened surface or a tooth configuration for producing a frictional effect. The rim 15 is preferably formed from a thermoplastic material and may be formed separately from the lid portion 11. The thread sections can be multi-start thread sections.
