Abstract

1329800 Opening containers SONOCO PRODUCTS CO 10 July 1972 [14 July 1971] 32166/72 Heading B8D A container end 12 has a removable portion defined by a score line (21, Fig. 3) covered by a bead 25 of plastic material tears on opening the container to provide lips guarding the torn edges 23, 24 of the end 12 and the removable portion. The removable portion is provided with a pull tag (22, Fig. 1) and may be in the form of a spiral or may constitute a part or the whole of the end 12. The bead 25 is applied as a hot melt and may comprise ethylene vinyl acetate, polyethylene, polypropylene, a wax, or a resin.
