Abstract

1,193,989. Compartmented containers; container closures. L'OREAL. 28 Nov., 1967 [6 June, 1967], No. 54211/67. Headings B8D and B8T. A moulded stopper comprises a cylinder 3 and a cap 5 slidably mounted in an annular body 4 on the mouth of a bottle 14. Following removal of a protective cap 2, pressure is exerted downwards on the cylinder 3 so forcing the cap 5 out of the body 4. A gap separates the cylinder 3 and the skirt of the cap 5, the latter being positioned between the cylinder and body 4. When the skirt of the cap 5 ceases to be gripped by the inner surface of the body 4 the cap separates from the cylinder 3 so allowing mixture of a component 20 in the cylinder with the bottle contents. The cylinder 3 can then be removed from and replaced in the annular body 4, thus acting as a simple stopper. The protective cap 2 is retained in position by a tamper proof band 19, torn off to permit the cap to be removed.
