Abstract

1,181,555. Caps for bottles &c. A. KELLER. 25 Aug., 1967 [17 Jan., 1967], No. 39317/67. Heading B8T. A cap for a vacuum bottle &c. has in its top 1 a depression 8, 9 pierced by a main hole 6 having a serrated collar 7 and by a smaller hole 11, a rubber compound 10 being applied to the depression in viscous form and allowed to set. When the cap is to be removed from the bottle &c., the solidified rubber compound 10 is pulled to release the vacuum through the smaller hole 11. As shown, a single radial extension 9 of the depression forms a tongue in the solidified rubber compound 10, to facilitate gripping. Alternatively, three, four or five radial depressions (9), Figs. 5a, 5b, 5c (none shown), may be provided. The cap may be applied to a screw-threaded bottle &c.
