Centering for floors and ceilings.-A concrete floor with intersecting ribs on the lower face is formed by means of domed and flanged temporary forms 13, Fig. 3, supported by stringers 21 resting on joist:; 23, which in turn are supported by posts 25, Fig. 8. The forms 13 are made of metal, indurated fibre, or other material, flanged all round, and formed with recesses 17 to receive tools in dismantling. Spacing is effected by the flanges abutting, or by inserted pieces 15<a>, and the forms are temporarily secured to the staging by metal disks 51, Fig. 7, nailed over abutting corners. The posts have brackets 27 to support the joists. Some of the posts remain in place for a longer period while the concrete is hardening; these carry block 47, Fig. 6, to which are nailed downturned flanges 45 of the adjacent forms. Adjacent to and over columns, a deep floor panel is formed by forms 55, Fig. 2, made in two parts to embrace the top of the column and with flanges 63 of the required depth.
