Abstract

1456538 Valves COPLASTIX Ltd 17 March 1975 [28 March 1974] 13872/74 Heading F2V A flap valve consists of a plate 10 and a door 15 attached thereto to close an opening 11 the door being of resilient, flexible material with attachment above the opening so that it can deflect away from the plate about its point of attachment and being reinforced by strips 16 attached to or embedded in it, of material, e.g. spring steel, more rigid than the plastics, e.g. polyurethane of which it may be made. A tubular collar 12 may be attached to the plate having a flange 13 inclined outwardly at the bottom on which the door may close under its own weight. The plate and door may be U- shaped the door being attached by a channel 14 and screws. The plate and collar may be made of rigid unplasticized polyvinyl chloride.
