Abstract

1446483 Brassiere INTERNATIONAL PLAYTEX INC 13 Dec 1973 [2 Jan 1973] 57860/73 Heading A3V A brassiere comprises two cups 12, shoulder straps 13 and body encircling means including a main panel 19 of yieldable but substantially in-elastic material, e.g. tricot, over a portion thereof, the elongation of the material being in a substantially horizontal direction when the brassiere is worn, elastic means being provided along selected peripheral areas of the panel to impart a degree of recovery to the material. The elastic means are provided by border tapes 20, 21 at the upper and lower edges of the panel and the rear edge remote from the cup 12. It is stated that the panel is slightly shorter in its relaxed condition than it is when fitted (the latter position being illustrated in Fig. 4, not shown), so that the panel is stretched when worn.
